Set in modern times 'Ghost Diamonds' is a story for the older teenager young adult

The lead character is Lisa an 18 year old girl. On a trip of a lifetime to South Africa, and meet for the first time her pen friend after five years of writing to each other, both girls on an internal flight are involved in crash. The plane plunges into a lake and someone, or something, saves them both from drowning. Only they survive!

The area where the plane came down is remote and during the walk through the jungle towards help the two girls are forced off the track by animals making for the lake. They stumble on a crashed vehicle and inside find boxes of diamonds. Unable to carry them they take only a few each marking the location where the diamonds are hidden.

However, Lisa keeps seeing images of a man and when her friend is bitten by something she begins to panic. With no experience of the country and it's dangers the man is suddenly at her side talking inside her head and yet not listening to her… he directs her towards a village but when she brings back help for her friend she's not there.

Even worse is to follow when at last the authorities are involved they find her friend still strapped in her seat belt at the bottom of the lake. They convince her she was always alone probably taking hallucinating mushrooms in error to keep herself alive.

Returning to England Lisa's problems begin to mount when first her brother looses his job and then her mother dies, forcing Lisa to sell the diamonds she'd taken from the crashed vehicle in the jungle..
