Set in modern times 'Gemma's WhiteCliff' is a story for the older teenager young adult

The lead character is a 15 year old school girl. After a chance meeting she becomes involved with a 40 year-old writer, creating numerous problems for them both. Then suddenly she loses both parents and overnight becomes the sole heir to the WhiteCliff Estate.

Being a young millionaire is not all it’s cracked up to be, as our heroine soon discovers. Many shopkeepers are wary when she eyes expensive merchandise, some overtly discourage her from shopping in their store, convinced she is a shoplifter or just browsing for a prank, never thinking she might actually be able to afford their wares…

And then there are the in-laws, who are prepared to do just about anything to get their share of the pie… Not to mention disgruntled local farmers who discover that the fields and houses they rent now belong to a teenager. After a young farmer unsuccessfully makes a play for Gemma she rashly cancels all leases for the local farms. He and his mates decide that she needs pulling down a peg or two, and violence quickly follows…
